Authentic Neapolitan Experience

In our world, authenticity is big. Come experience the distinct food and wine from Napoli (without the airfare to Italy).

Our pizzaolios use ingredients and procedures that are regulated by VPN—the Italian governing association—so that you taste a “true” Neapolitan pizza the way you would in Napoli. We are proud that all of our pizzerias are officially certified using Verace Pizza Napoletana (VPN) guidelines.

Our enoteca’s wine list is constantly evolving and is chosen for quality and price (below the industry norm). To finish things off just right—you can choose from hand-pulled Illy coffee or a dessert (made in-house daily).

Our philosophy is simple. We understand life is busy. If you’re taking the time to be our guest, we want your experience to be unique and to be the highlight of your day.

Piatto is a gathering place—like the cozy French café where people often go for a quick bite, for coffee or to watch the world go by. From the energetic Italian pizzerias in Naples we’ve found something unique that others, like you, deserve to share.

We want you to enjoy tasting the best ingredients—wood-fired pizza, wine, coffee and fabulous desserts. We refresh our menu three or fours times a year and we're always on the lookout for little gems in fine food and wine from across the globe. Our prices are reasonable—making the little indulgences a real treat. With VIP events and wine tastings, there is so much to experience.

The Traditional Artisan Way

It all starts with Tipo 00 flour (extremely low in gluten). Its fine, silky-smooth texture is the key to the indescribable lightness of the signature Neapolitan crust. Only fresh yeast and sea salt are used. Our dough is hand-stretched on marble (no machines; no rollers) just like it has been done in Naples for over 200 years.

Next is our tomato sauce. The volcanic soils of Mount Vesuvius are home to the world-famous, San Marzano tomato—the only tomatoes that can be used in “true” Neapolitan pizza. We love their bright and naturally sweet flavour. Then we add fresh, hand-sliced fior di laite mozzarella, basil and only the best/freshest ingredients to maximize flavour and aroma.

After 90 seconds at over 900°F in a wood-burning oven, the cornizone (crust) displays its distinctive black blisters and signals it’s ready to serve.

Have a Taste (or Two!)

Every second week our Enoteca (wine bar) brings out interesting gems we stumble across. Our wine tastings pair three great wines with three different pizzas—all served up in a casual and relaxed environment (at one silly price!) We're always on the lookout for good wines of excellent value.

Joining the event is simple. Tickets can be purchased online and you can stay in the know by signing-up for our VIP maling list. VIPs receive the first opportunity to make reservations for special events (including our Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day and New Years Eve).

What's Going On

Piatto is always looking for ways to celebrate fine food with family and friends. There’s something new going on every couple of weeks (check out our wine tastings!). If you'd like to be kept in the know and have the first opportunity to join in, then sign-up for our VIP mailing list.

VIPs can make reservations for Piatto events (typically we don’t take reservations, but seats for special events can fill quickly).

Fancy Yourself a Pizza Chef?

Tell us how you would create your prefect pizza. We review all customer creations on Mondays, then we fire-up the oven and start tasting (it’s hard work, we know).

If your creation makes the cut, we invite you to sample it. You receive a $50 gift certificate, we name the Pizza of the Week after you, plus we announce it on Facebook and our website so others can enjoy. Why not send us your creation?

Did we mention that one of Piatto’s original customer creations, The Stephanie, became so popular that it made its way to our regular menu?
